The charming town of San Pedro del Pinatar is located on the northern edge of the Mar Menor and has several great beaches located on the shores of the Mediterranean as well as in the Mar Menor.
The town’s history goes back to the Phoenician area (2.600 BC) and it is located on the famed Via Augusta which connected the cities of Cartagena and ancient Rome.
Since roman times to the present day, the town has been known for its salt winning areas.
This area is now a protected natural park and an important habitat for flamingos.
With the 24.000 habitants, this is a lively town with a wealth of services, shops bars and restaurants. San Pedro del Pinatar is ideally situated for a wide range of water sports. This area maintains its Spanish character and is not overrun by mass tourism.

Beaches
San Pedro del Pinatar has several beaches to enjoy, both on the Mediterranean and in the Mar Menor. Some of the Mar Menor beaches are famed for their mud baths and their wholesome properties.

On the Mar Menor: La Mota, Tela and the mud baths
The regional park and salt flats are well worth a visit.
Golf
A great selection of golf courses can be found near San Pedro del Pinatar
Just to the north are the golf courses of Lo Romero, Las Colinas, Las Ramblas and Villamartin.
Los Alcazares to the south has three great golf courses: Serena Golf, Roda Golf and Mar Menor Golf.
